Minutes - April 21, 2009

Regular meeting of the Omaha Camera Club in the Wurdeman Learning Center at The Omaha Home for Boys, 4343 N. 52nd Street, 6:30 pm.  Twenty members and guests present.

Vice President George Sinos proposed a "10 Minute Back to Basics" course as our first step in education for the membership in our new meeting venue.  This will give all of us an opportunity to ask questions and get on the spot answers and/or suggestions.  To that end, Mark Kresl showed us a wonderful group of portraits taken in a studio with different types of lighting.  For those not able to attend the meeting, Mark will upload some of the images to the "smugmug" site and you may view them at your convenience.  Thanks to both George and Mark.

Gary Prill demonstrated some of the information available to us on "smugmug".  He has set up a professional account, available to non-profit clubs at no charge, for the Club.  The images are protected so they cannot be copied.  This site provides many opportunities for club members to, for example, view images and leave comments, give a thumbs up or down to move the image to a "most popular" section of the site, etc.  If you would like to display images at this site, please contact Gary for further information.
